Teen Love

This week for i heart faces the theme is “All About Teens.” Being a teen myself I am loving all this attention on us. We are the future..so why not?

I know many talented teens..(and I consider myself to be pretty darn awesome sometimes too.) Sometimes I have to step back and remember that I am still a teen..I think that Ive accomplished a lot for a 19 year old and find many people amazed at how young I am. (I know that wont last forever! haha) Anyways, being a teen myself I have had many opportunities to shoot teens. I had SO many options for this weeks challenge, it was so hard to choose. (Thats why I’m posting this 15 minutes until the deadline. haha) I decided to use an image from my friends Lindsay’s wedding.

Meet Lindsay and Adrian: They were my first wedding that I ever shot, back on January 3rd, 2009. Some people might think they are crazy for marrying so young..but I don’t! If any two people are perfect for each other, its them. They are cutest couple ever!  They were both teens when they got married, so I thought that this would be a more unique way to show teenagers. A more responsible, mature side to teens.

P.S Sorry for the blog slacking. Tons of excited things happening! Ill give an update in the next couple of days. =)

1920’s Photoshoot

This themed shoot was one of my all time favorite shoots ever. Everything was perfect..the location, models, lighting, outfits..everything. Even the weather wasn’t too bad. =) Hunaya is having a fun 1920’s themed birthday party in the Fall and wanted to have some photographs taken of her, and her husband for invitations and to blow up at the party. Kellie and I had a blast and couldn’t stop taking pictures. We cant wait for the actual party.. ..based on how amazing this shoot was..the party is going to be pretty dang amazing too. I cant wait!

All About Babies

This week on i heart faces its all about babies! I have TONS of pictures of babies but this ones is definitely my favorite. It was such a raw moment that I was able to capture of Leah, my niece, minutes after birth. Although she was pretty mad when she came out, I was able to snap a frame where she looks peaceful.

Life and Death

I love finding those opportunities to capture a shocking moment. My favorite images are the ones that get the reply, “What is that?,”  “How did you get that?” or even “EWW!” from the viewers. The best images are the ones that make you think…whether you are confused or angry..it makes you think. It instantly reminded of a previous one I had taken of baby birds in an abandoned house. I love the contrast between the vibrant pink image of new born humming birds..and the dramatic pose of the dead bird falling out of the nest.

Play

This week on i heart faces challenge the theme is play. I shot a wedding last week, and had the perfect shot for this one. Here is an image of the groom playing the piano..serenading his bride! After looking through the rest of the entries I noticed that most all of them included kids playing..I thought it would be fun to show the newly weds playing instead and mix it up a bit.
